General Strength and Conditioning Frequently Asked Questions

Strength and Conditioning is about taking the principles of coaching and training to develop highly effective training processes for individuals or groups. These principles can be applied to any level of athlete whether an elite sportsperson or someone starting out in the gym for the first time.

On the face of it, Strength and Conditioning is about developing someone’s strengths and improving their ability to use their strengths repeatedly. However, there are many layers that go under both Strength and Conditioning.

Strength and Conditioning training is a systemised training process that allows an individual to excel in a specific activity.

A Strength and Conditioning Coach is someone who strategically develops an in-depth training process that is relevant to an individual’s needs. Their knowledge is built on evidence-based and practice-based evidence.

There a variety of different ways you can get into Strength and Conditioning and become a Strength and Conditioning coach. One of the best and easiest ways is to complete a Strength and Conditioning Course such as our Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Course. Unlike going to university, we’ll give you the hands-on skills you need to work with athletes in an S&C capacity, plus you can complete your course and ass Strength and Conditioning to your skillset in as little as 3 months!

You’ll be able to access and start your course straight away. Upon purchasing your course you’ll be sent an email with your log in details that will give you access to our members portal where you’ll be able to access all your course content and get to work immediately. If you have enrolled onto our Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Flexi course you can also at this stage book onto your preferred workshop and will then when you’re ready you can book your assessment day too.

The length of time it will take you to complete your course depends on a variety of things, which course you have enrolled onto, how much time you have to dedicate to your course, and whether you need additional support throughout.

Generally speaking, the Strength and Conditioning Fundamentals Course is completed on average in 4 weeks while the Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Course takes students on average 12 weeks to complete.

The great news is, we have a dedicated tutor support team who are there for you throughout the duration of your course. Whether you’re stuck on a module, need help with your case study, or simply want to talk through some aspects of the course you can contact your tutor via phone or email at any time to get support.

We also have a full student support team to assist you and as part of your Level 4 Strength and Conditioning course you will be entitled to book performance calls throughout, immersion sessions, weekly webinars, and much more. Plus, you’ll get FREE access to our Elite Coach Network too where you can get support and advice from a large group of fitness professionals.

In addition to the continued support from our Elite Coach Network, Strength and Conditioning education offers free business consultations post-course, career advice, and performance calls with our team of mentors.

Yes, we are! All of our main courses and pathways are CIMSPA-endorsed courses meaning you will receive a CIMSPA-endorsement on your certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions by our Students and Graduates

If you are enrolled on the Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Flexi course you will have the option to book your assessment day via step 3 of your Level 4 dashboard, the tab will display a list of venues and dates.

If you are enrolled on the Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Online or APP course you don’t need to attend an in-person practical assessment day, you can submit your assessment online. For further support on how to do this please get in touch with your student support tutor for further guidance on video submissions.

If for any reason, you’re unable to attend your planned practical assessment day, please get in touch with our Customer Services Team on 0113 320 1063 as soon as possible to discuss the reason for deferral and possible alternative dates.

The athlete selected by learners to be used within their case study component can be based on any sport, at any level, that requires a strength and conditioning coach to improve performance. If for any reason learners are unsure as to whether a potential sport would be appropriate to be used within the case study, contact the tutor support team for tutor guidance.

If you enrolled on our Level 4 Strength and Conditioning Total Online Award you have the option of adding a workshop and practical assessment onto your course at any time. Simply get in touch with our Customer Services Team on 0113 320 1063 or email them at info@strengthandconditioningeducation.com and they’ll let get you booked on your chosen location and date!

Both the practical workshop and the assessment require you to be active, due to this we would suggest you have appropriate sportswear for both delivering and taking part in physical sessions.

PLEASE NOTE – some of the venues we use are large scale gyms that can sometimes get cold in winter and in other facilities, we might head outside to complete aspects of the course, please come prepared. If you have any questions please get in touch with our customer support team.

We provide all the equipment you will need as part of your workshop. We would advise bringing appropriate sports clothes, (if you are attending in winter you may need additional layers), a water bottle, and if you are a note-taker, something to take notes on.

Your certificate will be available to download on your learner portal once you have completed all elements of your course. If you feel you have completed all elements and your certificate is not on the portal, please get in touch with our Customer Support Team via email at info@strengthandconditioningeducation.com who will be happy to help.
