Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach
Young athletes aren’t simply smaller versions of adults. They require a coaching approach that considers growth, maturation, physical literacy and long-term athletic development to help them reach their potential safely and effectively.
The Youth Strength and Conditioning Coach course has been created for coaches who want to move beyond the fundamentals and become confident in planning and delivering structured youth strength and conditioning programmes.
Unlike a standalone qualification, this course includes the complete Youth Strength and Conditioning Assistant course, ensuring you first develop a strong foundation before progressing into more advanced coaching concepts. You’ll begin by learning the principles of long-term athletic development, movement quality and physical literacy before advancing into profiling, programme design, monitoring and progression.
Throughout the course you’ll discover how to:
- Understand the impact of growth and maturation on training.
- Build long-term athletic development plans.
- Profile and assess young athletes.
- Design progressive strength and conditioning programmes.
- Monitor training load and athlete development.
- Progress movement, strength, conditioning and recovery appropriately.
