The endurance strength analyst course is aimed at endurance sports coaches, strength and conditioning coaches seeking to work with endurance athletes and recreational endurance athletes, for example runners, cyclists and triathletes. At the end of this course you will be able to identify your individual needs as an endurance athlete/the needs of your athletes with a movement screening that will be the platform from which you can begin to design a bespoke strength and conditioning programme.

You will be confident in delivering the movement screening and interpreting the results to compare against baseline standards for endurance athletes. You will also learn how and when to use the movement screening adequately to monitor the development of your athletes.

You will be introduced to BUILT TO ENDURE’s joint-by-joint approach to building an endurance athlete with the ‘super six’ movement patterns needed and gain the knowledge and awareness that S&C for endurance athletes encompasses more than just legs! Module One

Origin, mission, vision of the course and BUILT TO ENDURE.

Module Two

An introduction to S&C for endurance sports – Understanding strength training in the context of endurance sports: Why strength training should be different for endurance athletes. An introduction to the joint-by-joint approach and the ‘super six’ movement patterns to build an endurance athlete. Benefits of strength training for endurance athletes and the physical qualities developed.

Module Three

Too much with not enough – Recognizing the biggest pitfalls of S&C for endurance sports and why so many athletes fall into them.

Module Four

Designing a Movement screening – Design a movement screening to identify the strengths and weaknesses in athletic endurance performance.

Module Five

Interpreting movement screening results – Learn how to interpret movement screening results and compare against the baseline standards for endurance athletes. This is essential to being able to design a bespoke strength and conditioning programme.

Module Six

Harnessing potential: How to use the movement screening to begin to design a bespoke strength and conditioning programme? When to use the movement screening? Tailoring the movement screening around a high-volume training load.
