Mentorship Students CREATING AND BUILDING!!
If you’re in the area make sure you check out the opening night, there’s loads going on and it’ll be really cool.
I’ve been working with Cooky for some time now and this has been the focus of our recent conversations. It’s awesome to see it opening and making a big statement in the local area. Paul’s got the local media down and some free classes running for people. It’ll be a really top evening.
But more importantly this is a real new era dawning for UK S&C.
The birth commercial S&C .
The start of something special.
Yes there are facilities out there that are surviving but there’s something exciting coming.
Last week I interviewed Neil Parsley from the Underground Training Station in Liverpool about their franchise model. Phil Marsden in Leigh is doing great things. Russell Jolley (another former intern of mine) runs the Conditioning Centre down in Poole.
I’m just starting with another mentorship student in another part of the country entirely with a goal to open his new facility and build the business over the next 12 months.
And it’s exciting.
Check out the pictures from Paul’s facility.
Pretty cool eh!
The thing is it’s all well and good opening a new place, you might even be able to get loads of people in the doors through sales and marketing and a really good business model. But if you can’t coach you’ll never keep them! People want results, they pay for outcomes. They want strength, power, fat loss, endurance, sport specific etc etc. Being a great coach and knowing your stuff is the first part of this. I can say after working with Paul for some time that he has this in place.
They want quality coaching. You need to deliver remarkable service. Better than people expect not the same. Another mentorship student Dean Fouache has a superbly simple customer service model that he uses in his highly successful PT/S&C business in Cardiff. They touch base with people 3 times per week IN ADDITION to the time they see people for their sessions. A tweet, article emailed, text message, phone call. It doesn’t matter. It’s the thought and then the perception of that thought. That’s what makes things seem remarkable.
Don’t complain how well other people are doing when you’re not following the fundamentals.
Sales and marketing, customer service and the business model are the next phases you have to be good at those too. But get good at doing your job first!
I can’t wait to see Frontier grow into a leading S&C facility in the UK.
It’s exciting times.
Enjoy the journey.
PS I have some space for a couple of mentorship students for the next 12 months. If you’r interested check out the programme and give me a shout!
