Maximise Your Potential #1: It’s already begun!
Aspiring S&C coaches reading this…..Last year I put out the free book on getting into the industry. If you missed it, you can buy it on amazon for about £4.50 or you can get a copy for free by leaving your name and email address on the home page of this site. Trust me it’s worth a download (over 500 people have done so far).
If you have a copy, then my question to you is: since I put that book out, how much further down the line are you?
How much action have you taken to make changes?
To those of you who have taken lots of action and made significant strides forward, I congratulate you! But keep your foot on the gas!
Those of you who perhaps have not, you’re in a position to do so from now forwards. The book hasn’t been out that long, so read it again and get going!
Those of you who aren’t remotely interested in a career in strength and conditioning or athletic development, fear not, this blog is still for you! And you should still check the book out as it is a career guide for all free lancers and professionals looking to develop themselves.
See that book just represents a point in time that I’m referencing, everyone reading this will have a significant event in the last year that made you think about developing yourself, your career, your business, your health etc etc.
Taking action needs to result off the back of this moment in time.
Let’s define taking action though. That significant event is like a flood, an overload of information, a massive realisation, and it’s easy to think that the action required needs to mirror this, that it should also be a huge shift, a major change in working environment, a huge financial expense?
This is not the case. In fact the taking action is a simple decision to act on what has provoked thought. Off the back of this a better analogy is a dripping tap. That dripping tap doesn’t stop and eventually fills the void (unless you turn it off…don’t do that!!)
A little and often is a goal for 2013 for myself in all the key areas I’ve identified: Business, training, relaxation.
Works for me, what about you?
