S&F TV Episode 11: Olympic Weightlifting Complex
It’s been a while since I posted a video so this week I’ve got a simple barbell complex that I use to grain the movement patterns for the power clean.
I chop and change the exercises to suit the individuals so feel free to create your own, but in this clip I’m showing the following movements:
Stiff Legged Deadlifts
Explosion to Pull
All done for 4-6 reps in a warm-up generally.
Notice how on the explosion the bar comes out from the thighs significantly. Now before the Oly lifting fanatics abuse me for this, I know.
I know it does this and I use it to encourage the aggressive hit of the bar. Then I tend to move to a pull which is the movement that follows.
I love weightlifting as a tool to generate power and build lifting skills.
For me it is just that though.
Of which there are other alternatives.
