Maximising Potential: What it feels like to climb a mountain!
Okay so this photo is not really a mountain as such, more of a big old hill!
But as I was looking through some old holiday photos I came across this one, and I have to say it surprised me!
It surprised me as normally I’m not the most ‘smiley’ of people!
But in this photo i’m pretty much beaming.
It’s from the Lake District up near Thirlwell, a beautifull place and this was a total spur of the moment climb.
Jeans, trainers, and t shirt instead of boots, waterproof trousers and rainproof jacket.
Im pretty sure this was actually taken on the way down. I’d been to the top and was finding my way down back to meet Carley (who had decided to call it a day half way up)
The endorphins are flowing, the heart is pumping, the feelings are good!
But the smile is down the the sense of satisfaction.
In the grand scheme of things this is a small hill. It was conquered in a couple of hours. A small victory, but a victory none the less.
It felt awesome! I smashed it!
Imagine the feeling conquering the bigger (actual) mountains, the ones that takes the planning, training, hard work and consistency.
Imagine the feelings that this will bring, the sense of satisfaction and completion.
The legacy you could leave.
This is how I feel with my work. I love the process, the feeling, the small victories and the long term progress.
I just can’t get enough.
But my question for the day is to you.
What mountain are you climbing?
What legacy do you want to leave?
At least think about it.
