I don’t do Personal Training! (Coaching on the other hand…)
I seem to be getting a lot of emails recently asking me for personal training sessions.
Whilst I’d love to help out I just can’t do it I’m afraid. I have a gym full of athletes that need coaching, a team to run, and I don’t have the time.
I’ve never really done personal training in it’s truest sense…working one on one, losing weight or dropping a dress size. I am not trash talking PT’s at all, there are better people than me at that job who are very smart and committed to the cause. You should train with them. To quote Austin Powers “It’s just not my bag baby”!
I train athletes as a full time job, something which I’m very fortunate to do and have been lucky enough to make a living from for the last 8 years. I train some in groups, others individually, and I’m passionate about it all.
I run my consultancy doing coach education and working with governing bodies.
I love working with committed athletes, trainees and people wanting to achieve excellence in performance.
Most importantly I’m a coach not a trainer. This is something I wrote about very recently. Find out my thoughts HERE on that.
So in response to the questions and emails I’ve been getting I’ve put 2 services together for those of you who are interested in learning how to train better and being put through my methods of training for strength, power, hypertrophy, and getting lean. These 2 services kind of fall into the ‘Intensive Development’ category.

I’m a big fan of the learn intensively, apply intensively model. It’s worked well for me in my career so far and these two services fit that mould so to speak. They are perfect for those of you who like to ‘Learn by Doing’, like to practise what you preach in that you want results yourself before passing on the knowledge to others, or you might simply be looking at ramping up your own training. You don’t have to be a coach to come on these at all.
Both of which are going to be between 3 and 5 days long and consist of 6-10 sessions, I haven’t decided yet. I would like your thoughts on it if you would! The goal is to train hard twice a day, develop good habits, improve technique and take a programme home with you to continue with for a good phase of training.
1. STRENGTH CAMP: This is going to be a group- based training programme. 3-5 days in length. 2 sessions per day, 1 early, one later. 8:1 trainee to coach ratio MAX to keep the quality high. The focus will be strength, hypertrophy and work capacity. I will be coaching the sessions personally. This is aimed at people who want to develop in the following areas:
- Olympic Weightlifting, Squatting and Deadlifting, Pressing and Pulling
- Programme design: You will put your own programme together at the end of the week which will be checked by myself.
- Mobility, flexibility and plyometric training
- Build serious strength, power and size.
- Want to learn how to programme: you’ll design your next phase of training which will be signed off by me at the end of the week.
Prepared to take 3-5 days out your schedule to get up to Leeds and train super hard! I think getting away from your home town is good here as it removes you from distractions and you can focus on being a trainee!
Start as you mean to go on! Use the intensive training week to kick start your programme.
The cost of the programme WILL BE CHEAPER THAN YOUR AVERAGE PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION!

2. Exclusive Training Week 1 on 1 with me. I do like working with individuals one on one.
I will take 1 PERSON PER WEEK FOR 4 DAY PERIODS.
Twice a day training sessions (8 sessions per week)
Where the strength camp is individualised towards a specific goal and you take a programme away with you, this week is totally specific and individualised FOR YOU!
The programme can be geared to your specific goals. Maybe you want to develop strength, or power, or work on cutting body fat. You might want to learn about training, learn how to coach properly by doing the lifts yourself.
You might have a competition or event coming up and want to prepare for that with a brilliant week of training to kick start things properly. OR you might be well into your training phase and want to finish it super strong.
The first session starts with a thorough assessment of where you are and directs the remainder of the sessions.
You’ll send information through prior to the week so I can plan everything out properly.
You’ll work with me ONE ON ONE for the 8 SESSIONS.
You’ll leave with a programme moving forward.
This can be scheduled in to suit your availability.
Rest assured you’ll train HARD this week.
This is a premium rate programme. These services are not available in any other format generally, unless you are one of my high performance athletes.
