Ask Brendan #2 and an Education Update!
Firstly, if you’ve not yet listened to the Athletic Development Podcast from Tuesday check it out HERE. We talked about monitoring training and keeping things simple.
Secondly, I recorded another Ask Brendan audio the other day and it’s available on Itunes NOW! In this episode I answered questions on Sumo VS Traditional deadlifts, Interval training (including a full progression) and some advice for beginners starting their lifting and strength training careers! It’s a short and sweet listen and you can check it out at the link below:

You can even watch it if you really want to!
Lastly, an education update for you.
There are 2 workshops rapidly approaching their EARLY BIRD EXPIRY DATE. Tommy Yule’s Olympic Weightlifting for Athletes workshop will be moving to FULL PRICE ON SATURDAY so make sure you book your place before then. Tommy will be teaching his progressions for Clean and Jerk and Snatch as well as talking about appropriate lifts for different sports and athletes. This is going to be a great workshop. Tommy has to be one of the top authorities on Olympic Weightlifting in the UK right now and even more so when it comes to strength and conditioning applications.
The second workshop approaching it’s early bird discount is Rhodri Lloyds Training Tomorrows Champions which moves to full price on the 9th March.
Rhodri is the main man when it comes to youth training and development. He has written the UKSCA position statement on the subject and more importantly is an applied coach with lots of knowledge and experience in this area. This workshop has proved very popular to date and I expect it to sell out. If you work with or have a desire to learn about junior athlete physical preparation this is a must attend event. I personally work with several young athletes and am really looking forward to getting some new stuff to use with them as well as adding to my knowledge on the subject. I think many of us would benefit from having this info in our coaches toolbox!
Check out the links to both workshops and don’t forget to TAKE ACTION if you’re considering attending either one.
