Marketing is NOT a swear word!
There’s a negative connotation with marketing in the coaching profession.
Like it’s a bad thing and we shouldn’t do it, or maybe succeeding without doing it is more credible?
This is nonsense.
Every profession, every person, in every job HAS to market themselves and do some form of marketing to achieve that.
Seth Godin says that very few of us set out to be marketers. Very few dream of working in advertising.
But there are many of us (myself included) that dream to help as many people as they can. Maybe you do too?
You do this by spreading your message.
To as many people as you can.
You know, like marketing?
Because that’s exactly what the word means.
It’s spreading your message.
Communicating your mission.
The parent who needs educating to the value of strength for her child.
The head coach trying to build a performance environment.
The athletes learning to train.
The coaches looking to develop.
The overweight, the underweight, the healthy, the unhealthy.
It goes on. They all need to be sold into your programme.
It’s all marketing.
The promotion that isn’t coming your way or the business that’s not growing as is ‘should’.
What we need to do is learn.
Learn how the best coaches work.
Learn how to spread ideas effectively.
Get better at communicating.
Let me tell you, some of these ‘marketers’ could be awesome coaches.
Stop getting BITTER and get BETTER.
This gaping void picture says it all:
And it really is that simple.
You can’t help people if you can’t reach people.
It is integral, and to ignore it is a limiting belief (or just plain stupid).
And you know what….the smart people know this and do it.
Contact me below if you want help reaching people for whatever reason. I’ve learnt a lot from my mistakes. You don’t need to make them like I did. I like helping and have a few spaces open in my coaching programme.
Cheers as always,
