If you’re not getting good feedback…..
How can we get what we want?
In coaching it’s about working with people to help them get to where they want to be.
In business it’s about building something that makes a profit.
Both are about making things happen.
The commonality is people.
You can’t sell a product if you don’t have customers.
You can’t coach if you don’t have clients.
It’s all about relationships.
Its NOT about sets and reps. Or profit and loss.
Sure underneath everything is our skills and technical knowledge.
Far more important are the relationships we build.
The messages we give people.
If you don’t get on with people you better start making changes.
Our job is to get people to understand our communication. Our message.
If you’re not getting the results you expect or want from your clients, athletes, students, employees, business partners, prospects, you really need to look at the message your giving out first.
Have you educated people?
Have you put the message across in the right way?
Have you thought about how your client responds? How they learn? How they want to be spoken to?
I would bet money that the answers lie in these questions, NOT the technical underpinning knowledge that you have.
The picture below illustrates this really well.
The feedback you get is linked to the message you send.
It’s a loop.
One leads to the other.
It’s so simple.
A good coach can adjust the message to suit the people in front of them.
There is not one way to deliver that message. There are an infinite number of ways.
Choose the right one.
Learn from he wrong ones.
Look at yourself first.
