Don’t Try To Polish Perfect!
Don’t Try To Polish Perfect
If you want to get on as a coach or trainer, it’s worth checking out my thoughts below to see whether you are really following this advice or if you are guilty of the traits mentioned.
Get out there, get stuck in coaching, get a website up and running and start writing (just a free, basic blog will do). Talk to other coaches, spend time with them, spend time getting your hands on as many different types of athletes as possible. Get that ebook of dvd out there, rather than waiting to update it to 3D i-max ready; it could really benefit people RIGHT NOW.
Too often we are aspiring for a perfection that doesn’t exist! What does perfection even mean?
Perfect means it gets the job done, serves its purpose.
Often have already have perfect, but we continue to polish away at it, but ultimately we just end up with a really shiny perfect that isn’t any better than the standard matt finish perfect. Even worse, this can take months that could have been used to hone our craft, or more importantly help an athlete to develop.
Had to sell this as I polished it all day instead of getting behind the wheel! Is that a thumb print I can see on the bonnet?
Dont let an athlete miss out on their dreams just because you love your reflection so much you insist on polishing everything! 🙂
Admit it; are you guilty of this? Well then, do something about it!
