It’s Not Just What We Say, It’s How We Live
I spent most of Sunday down at Leeds Dock at the Primal Stampede Obstacle race.
The weather was lovely and it was a great event. It really ticked all the boxes for me, with lots of fun being had, many people having clearly worked hard and had been training for performance. Great camaraderie and spirit and an enthusiastic crowd cheering everyone on.
All for a great cause too, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and Cash for Kids.
Ste Gordon dragged his Tu Nova team around the 10 obstacle course and Al Williams (both on our Mentorship) was also there getting muddy!
The Mentorship Students have been busy, with a get together and some filming for some of our Manchester based students. Thanks to Nat Epstein for your help organising!
Quite a strong group working out of Manchester – I’d always hoped that the group would make the most of the network and support each other locally, so its really nice to see.
Mel’s judoka, Nina, missed a mention last week, when she won 7 fights out of 7 to take the senior 52kg Gold!
Ben Grey is working with a women’s ice hockey team, Neil Brewin with a pro boxer and Russell Turner secured new regional S&C position with England Golf.
Sorry for everyone I’ve missed – its hard to keep up with you all!
Some great sporting performances this weekend – naturally as I work in Athletics, I was chuffed to bits to see Mo give a masterclass in the 10, and even more made up to see Jess take the World title after becoming a mother. Big respect to Coach Toni and the wider team that have helped her get back to World class level so quickly!
I’ll leave you with this for the coming week:
It’s not just what we say, its how we live.
Think about that for a second.
Its not about having all the theory and being able to talk a good game. Its not all about getting opportunities by being able to sell yourself, why you are so good at your job and why you care.
You can tell your friends and family, athletes and peers how much you appreciate them, but gratitude should be shown, not just spoken, otherwise it isn’t genuine. It takes effort to SHOW gratitude – if you cannot be bothered, you aren’t really grateful for your opportunities, relationships and help from others.
Ultimately for success and results you need to apply that knowledge and theory, walk the walk, show you’re great by letting the results do the talking and showing that you care by the little behaviors you infuse into every day.
Same goes for life too.
Speaking with Ste Gordon today, of Tu Nova, that is the defining key to the Mentorship programme that sets it apart from all those academic qualifications that saturate the market. These are great, but they can never tackle the following quite like our programmes do:
You are taken through how to apply everything you learn, so it isnt just theory. You’re guided through it by great coaches who are happy to share their knowledge and experience to steer you through the journey.
How to apply that knowledge and actually coach – to engage, excite and enable those you are working with and create a winning environment.
You can chat to us about joining our mentorship programme – we’ll go through some of your ideas and will see how we can help. Don’t leave it till next month, you’ll end up no better off a year down the line!
Finally, if you’ve been hiding in a cave for the last week and didn’t realise we have opened the doors to our online video Academy site, you can find out more and grab one of the limited spaces now.
Only 200 spaces are available, so you have a week max, or until all the spots go – whichever comes first.
We had over 400 people sign up for our priority list to join, so I don’t expect to last the week!
You’ll get your 1st months access, to give it a try for only £1!
As its the launch, you’ll also get £411 worth of free content, from the likes of Vern Gambetta, Dan Baker, Kelvin Giles and Dan John.
No catch – just an amazing offer for our loyal followers.
