Meet A Student…Mike Pearce
Hopefully your all having a productive week! Training and studying is on my agenda along with planning some networking meetings for the coming weeks.
I had a conversation with someone earlier on today regarding personal development and learning from other people in the industry. Often, people are surprised when they hear that coaches also have coaches. “Why do you need a trainer? You do the job yourself!” Being a coach doesn’t mean you know everything. Who does?! It doesn’t mean you don’t need a kick up the backside every now and again. Even coaches need someone to bounce ideas off, to analyse their lifting and programming or to generally help with their performance. Over the years I have paid out a fair bit of money to learn from others and in my opinion, it’s paid off.
It’s also good to meet up with like-minded people to exchange ideas and help each other out. If there’s one thing I will say about the mentorship programme it’s that EVERYONE genuinely wants to help. The support network you get is phenomenal.
One guy who I’ve met up with a couple of times recently is Mike Pearce. Mike is a personal trainer who is fairly new to the mentorship but he’s doing some really great things in the Manchester area. A thoroughly nice guy who has an admirable desire to succeed.
So, what does Mike do and why is he on the mentorship programme?
“I have been a PT for 5 years in Manchester after coming into fitness at a late stage following a career in retail. Health and fitness was always my passion and doing something I love is amazing. Life is too short to be stuck doing something you don’t like so I made the decision to jump ship and never looked back.
As well as PT I also run a successful group training business called Uni Fit, which offers PT to staff of the universities in Manchester at an affordable price. I hope to roll this out to other universities in the future.
I have raced in multiple marathons and more recently completed IRONMAN UK in 2014 which was the best and worst experience of my life. I literally love sport and my job gives me amazing satisfaction knowing I can make a difference to people’s lives.
I have recently completed a course in nutrition and jumped at the chance to work with Brendan on the mentorship after hearing great things. Never stop learning in this job!”
This is what attracted Mike to the mentorship…
“During a one day work shop with Brendan, the passion and enthusiasm that came across for the mentorship sold it to me. How much you can get out of just 9 months is amazing. I can’t wait to see how the next 9 months go! Exciting times.”
Even though Mike has only been on the programme for a short time, it has already made an impact on his business…
“I have only been on the programme for 4 weeks but already I have some solid goals and targets set for the programme and I am already seeing how so many different doors and paths can be opened simply by being involved in this programme. The pace is relentless but it’s worth it I’m loving it. Setting my goals for the future was a big step giving me a focus and drive to be better at what I do and taking action now rather than waiting for things to happen is changing how I do things.
What about plans once the mentorship has finished?
“As I discussed with Ryan Blake, my mentor, I don’t really know what to expect or have planned for when I complete the program. I just know that I will be a better coach, businessman and person by the time it ends. But that is just the start!! Who knows in what direction this can take me the possibilities are endless.”
This is what Mike has to say to anyone who is thinking about signing up…
“Just do it!!! You won’t believe the amount of content and endless contacts you will make. If you do one course that will change your business this is it…I can’t wait to see what the next few months the hold in store. I’m ready!”
Another happy student who is rapidly progressing with his learning, and business! This is what the mentorship is about. Helping people develop, challenge and succeed. It’s been an absolute pleasure spending time with Mike and I’m looking forward to seeing him do even better over the coming months.
Give Mike a follow on Facebook. His posts are not only informative, but really inspirational. Keep up the good work Mr. Pearce!
