Excuse me…why are you here?
A great book with a great title that I recommend for you is by Simon Sinek and it’s called ‘Start with Why’.
The title really says it all. It’s all about defining your purpose.
The reason you do what you do.
You see when you do this it makes all the little things fall away.
All the challenges worth it.
All the bad days tolerable, and the good days great and worth celebrating.
Just think about it for a second.
Why do you do what you do?
Why did you train as a coach or personal trainer?
Or choose the career you are currently doing?
What’s your purpose for serving the people you serve?
What is it you personally get out of it?
You see the thing is we have to get something out of this ourselves.
A sense of fulfilment.
A lifestyle that allows you to do the things you want to do?
A lifestyle where you have choices.
So you can do what you want, with whom you want to do it, when you want and where you want.
Quite possibly a definition of success in itself?
When I started my current business Strength and Conditioning Education I did it because I wanted to provide world class education for people.
I could see people where overwhelmed and struggling.
It doesn’t need to be like this.
I was fortunate enough to learn from some amazing coaches.
People like Mike Boyle, Vern Gambetta, Kelvin Giles, Karl Tanswell and many more.
Business leaders like Brad Sugars, Kevin Green, Tony Robbins and other fantastic entrepreneurs.
I wanted to see others get those same opportunities.
Because I want people to succeed.
And I realised my purpose is about providing opportunities for people to develop themselves.
That’s what I’m here for.
One of our products is the mentorship programme.
The reason I developed this programme is because I needed support when I was first starting out. (I still do…we all do).
But there was nothing out there that offered that. (There still isn’t).
So I wrote down what the worlds best development process would look like for me, and the people who I’d already worked with that I had experience of mentoring.
And I set about building that process.
I didn’t start out thinking about what would sell the most places or would make me the most money.
I started out thinking how can I create the worlds premier and most effective coach development process.
A process that sees people succeed in life as well as coaching and business.
And you know what, when we think in this way, with no limitations, we can really surprise ourselves and build something really special.
So my challenge to you this week my friend is to think about why you are doing what your doing.
Take a moment to reflect.
Come away from the hustle and just stop for a second.
And from there think about are you actually doing what you really want to do?
If you are I applaud you. Think about how you can add even more value to your life and other peoples.
If you are not then I want you to think about what that ‘thing’ is that you want to do.
What does it look like?
Sometimes it doesn’t come easily. But the very fact you know you aren’t on the right path is a start.
I want to leave you with two choices that we all have.
You can choose to exist.
Or you can choose to make an impact and build something you’re proud of that makes a difference.
And I am here to help as always.
That’s what my mentorship programme is all about. We are currently not accepting applications for this but if you want to talk through the programme and how it can help you just leave a comment on this blog or any of our social media platforms and we can schedule something.
Wishing you lots of fortune, strength and success,
